Course number : NCR 9568
« back to classes page
This class will teach you how to draw and paint botanical studies and sketches of plants, both in their natural habitats on campus and also in more detail in the classroom.  Carefully observing the characteristics of the plant parts, how they fit together and grow and then translating this into sketches in your sketchbook will be the first part of the process.. Then you will learn how to paint these sketches in watercolor to achieve a realistic interpretation of your plants. Ink line can be added to vary your plant interpretations.  You will also learn how to mix a wide variety of colors to achieve the subtle variations of color in nature needed for each of these subjects.
