This class is only open to approved OCOB students.
The Orfalea College of Business is offering a non-credit course designed to give graduating students a working knowledge about wine. Many of you will soon find yourselves in situations when you will be asked to make choices about wine, and we want you to feel reasonably confident, rather than completely at sea.
After first learning about the attributes of wine and how to taste wine, you will learn about different wine varietals and regions around the world each week. The course will culminate with a wine tasting competition between teams from the course.
Ian Adamo is teaching the course. He is a Court of Master Certified Sommelier who was taught by the Masters of Wine organization based in London. After starting his career in finance in Manhattan, Ian pursued his passion for food and wine at Le Cirque in New York and other restaurants in Manhattan and Seattle. Realizing his true passion was to work with wine, Ian left city life for Paso Robles to work at Bistro Laurent and then recently opened Somm's Kitchen. Ian hosts workshops at Cambridge teaching teams how to blind taste American wines, which culminates in a highly-publicized tasting competition in London. He has taught and judged at wine competitions all over the world, and also consults with several wineries in Paso Robles and state departments around the world.
You must be at least 21 years old to enroll in the class and have received an inviation fro Dean Dawson..
