Jewelry Design II

Course number : NCR 9710
« back to classes page
This is an intermediate level jewelry design course exploring cold connections in metal arts.

Some jewelry making experience is required (such as completion of the first Jewelry Design class). The focus of this class is on contemporary methods of bench techniques with emphasis on sawing and filing custom designs. By the end of this four-session class, students should feel comfortable with a variety of methods to produce jewelry in new ways, from hand sawing through fabrication and design. A series of hands-on demonstrations and exercises will aid students in applying the intermediate techniques of contemporary cold-connection jewelry design, allowing them to produce one-of-a-kind, exceptional works of art. This class covers the additional components of jewelry design as it relates to wearable art and metal arts.

Some materials are included in the course fee. Students are required to purchase some materials and tools for this class. The instructor estimates this cost at approximately $130 for those supplies.
