One CEU is equivalent to ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education/training experience under responsible, qualified direction and instruction (definition of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training-IACET). Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are based on the number of sixty-minute contact hours for a course or program. (Example: If a course or program meets ten contact hours, one CEU will be awarded.) To receive CEUs, the participant must attend all the hours required for that CEU value. If a participant does not meet the attendance requirements to earn the CEU’s for which they have registered, a “NC” (non-credit) grade will be issued. Refunds will not be approved for participants who do not meet the attendance requirements. CEUs earned will be recorded on an official Cal Poly transcript, which must be ordered and paid for by the participant.
