Course number : NCR 9699
« back to classes page
This six week class will show you how to use a variety of drawing and sketching media to portray animals and birds in their environments. Pencil, pens and various inks with the addition of a little watercolor will be the media that you will be using to explore your choice of subject.
You will learn how to draw the subject first and why it is so important to understand the proportions of each animal or bird that you choose. Simple ways to assess the proportions will be demonstrated along with all the media.

You will also learn how to simplify and depict the fur, feathers, backgrounds and any other details needed to make these drawings and sketches of your chosen subjects.
You will be working mostly from your own photographs, (photos taken with a flash are more difficult to use), or mine if you prefer.

Media to be used - Pencil, India ink, Eternal Ink, Walnut Ink, dip pen and bamboo pen with the addition of a little watercolor. Sketchbook

Materials list will be supplied.
